A decade of saving, supporting, and celebrating Southwest Florida dining
A Decade of Dining with Purpose: Sizzle Dining Turns 10

Ten years ago, Sizzle Dining began as a simple, slightly audacious idea: eleven days of specially priced multi-course dinners at roughly two dozen Naples restaurants during the slowest stretch of the year.
Today, that spark has grown into Southwest Florida’s premier culinary event, a monthlong celebration that fills dining rooms, supports community, and turns every meal into meaningful impact.
Founded by Guy Clarke, who first gained local recognition marketing BaconFest Naples for three years, Sizzle Dining was created to benefit everyone at the table. Clarke’s own childhood experiences with food insecurity shaped the event’s charitable core. For every Sizzle meal sold, participating restaurants donate $1 to benefit the Southwest Florida chapter of Blessings in a Backpack, which provides weekend meals to local elementary school children facing hunger.

The results have been remarkable. In 2024, Sizzle Dining raised $62,529; then the momentum surged in 2025, when 127 restaurants across Collier and Lee counties served a record 87,483 meals during the event’s first four-week run. Clarke estimates the event’s overall economic impact at roughly $20 million since we started, supporting not only restaurants but also local farmers, linen and uniform services, and even local boutiques, who benefits when you buy a new dress for an evening out.
During the 2025-2026 school year, Blessings in a Backpack’s local chapter served 31 programs, fed approximately 8,000 children every Friday, and distributed 256,000 weekend food bags. Sizzle’s consistent support has become a vital part of that greater effort.
Now, as Sizzle Dining marks its milestone 10th anniversary, the celebration is expanding further. For the first time, the event will run the entire month of September. Clarke has set an ambitious goal: selling more than 100,000 Sizzle meals and surpassing last year’s record. The guiding mission: save local restaurants, support hospitality, and celebrate Southwest Florida’s vibrant culinary scene, remains the same, now paired with the rallying cry #DineWithPurpose.
This year brings meaningful enhancements. Inspired by Clarke’s personal health journey, some participating restaurants will offer new heart-healthy menu options alongside traditional selections, giving guests balanced choices while still enjoying the full Sizzle experience. Diners can select from specially curated prix-fixe and tasting menus priced flexibly from $19 to $69 per person, each delivering strong value through a required discount off regular menu pricing.
A robust multi-channel advertising campaign is already underway, with billboards, newspaper placements, radio spots, and strategic press outreach building anticipation across the region.
More than a dining promotion, Sizzle has become a movement with a loyal following of diners who plan their Septembers around it. Clarke envisions even greater growth ahead — transforming September into a full-fledged food festival month in the spirit of Miami’s South Beach Wine & Food Festival, with chef collaborations, demonstrations, and special one-night events layered atop the signature lunches, brunches, and dinners.

Ten years in, the recipe remains unchanged: good food at fair prices, paired with the knowledge that each meal contributes to something bigger. Whether you are a returning enthusiast or discovering Sizzle for the first time, the 2026 milestone promises to be the most memorable and impactful year yet.
