Naples Art

As the weather cools and the city of Naples sees a return of its seasonal residents, Naples Art Institute will showcase a talented selection of artists at their upcoming and top-ranked outdoor art fairs. With three national art fairs held along the prestigious Fifth Avenue South and the beautiful Cambier Park, Naples Art Institute has been at the forefront of Naples’ arts and cultural landscape since 1954.

Executive Director and Chief Curator of Naples Art Institute, Frank Verpoorten, believes the upcoming art fairs will continue to bring the Naples community together, despite the hardships brought by Hurricane Ian. “Outdoor art fairs can be a barometer for the emotional well-being of a community. In light of the hardships that Southwest Florida endured earlier this season, it will be especially rewarding to see visitors once again attending our art shows and enjoying the unique Florida advantage of an outdoor event in the winter months.”

Artist acceptance into the art fair is a rare commodity—on average, each art fair receives over 600 applications, and attracts around 25,000 visitors during their respective two-day events. Naples Art Institute also employs a unique feature for their art fairs--each fair is juried, ensuring a high standard for the showcased artists.

Art Fair and Event Manager, Patrick Benes, believes the Naples Art Institute fairs are one-of-a-kind, “I am delighted our outdoor art fairs remain top-ranked in the country, as this continuously motivates us to produce spectacular and fresh events.” Naples Art Institute outdoor art fairs have been ranked by Sunshine Artist Magazine among the top 10 best fine art fairs in the U.S. and have also been named to the Art Fair Source Book’s “BLUE CHIP 100” Fine Art Events. The 2023 editions will feature works from over 1000 professional artists from over 30 states and abroad, using 18 unique mediums, including acrylic/oil paintings, ceramics, digital art, fiber/leather, glass, wood, and others.

Rounding out the amazing features of these art fairs is that the city of Naples closes down Fifth Avenue South to vehicular traffic, allowing attendees the opportunity to walk down the avenue and engage with the artists. It’s a wonderful opportunity to discover new artists, purchase art, and enjoy the beauty of Naples.
