Gulfshore Playhouse Invites Families to make A Christmas Carol a new holiday tradition

Some holiday traditions are passed down through generations. A favorite recipe. A familiar song. A story everyone knows by heart.
This holiday season, Gulfshore Playhouse invites Southwest Florida families to add a new tradition to the list with A Christmas Carol, a world-premiere adaptation of Charles Dickens’ beloved holiday classic, coming to the Moran Mainstage this November and December.
Written and directed by Gulfshore Playhouse Founder, CEO and Producing Artistic Director Kristen Coury, this new adaptation brings the timeless story of Ebenezer Scrooge to life through the artistry of professional actors, designers and artisans. Audiences will follow Scrooge on his unforgettable journey through Christmas Past, Present, and Future as he discovers what truly matters: generosity, compassion, connection, and the people we share our lives with.

At its heart, A Christmas Carol is a story that belongs to everyone. Children can experience the wonder of live theatre and meet characters they may have only encountered in books. Parents can introduce a beloved classic to a new generation. Grandparents can share a story they may have grown up with themselves. And everyone can experience the simple pleasure of sitting together, away from the holiday rush, and being part of a story unfolding right in front of them.

A new way to experience a timeless story
There is something uniquely special about seeing a familiar holiday story performed live. The music, costumes, sets, characters and shared laughter of an audience create an experience that simply can’t be replicated on a screen.
For Gulfshore Playhouse, A Christmas Carol is also an opportunity to showcase the extraordinary talent and craftsmanship that go into a professional theatrical production right here in Naples. Alongside the professional cast and creative team, several local young performers will appear as members of the youth ensemble, giving audiences another connection to the community they call home.
But you don’t have to know the story already to make it part of your holiday plans. Whether this is your family’s first visit to Gulfshore Playhouse or you’ve been attending together for years, A Christmas Carol offers a chance to gather everyone - from the youngest members of the family to grandparents - and share an experience you’ll remember long after the curtain falls.
This season, make room for a new tradition. Bring the family, share a timeless story, and experience the holidays together at Gulfshore Playhouse!
A Christmas Carol runs November 17 through December 24.
Tickets are available at GulfshorePlayhouse.org or by phone at 239.261.7529.
