Stephanie and Richard Prebish named honorary chairs

The Naples Historical Society is pleased to announce that Stephanie and Richard Prebish have been named Honorary Chairs of the 2026 Christmas Gala in recognition of their longstanding commitment to historic preservation, civic leadership, and philanthropy within the Naples community.

The gala will be held on Friday, December 4, in the picturesque Norris Gardens at Historic Palm Cottage™. Proceeds from the evening will support the society’s historic preservation and educational programs, collections and archival initiatives, and ongoing operations. Presenting sponsors of the gala include Northern Trust and the Mary S. Smith Chairman’s Council, and Naples Illustrated serves as the event Media Sponsor.

Since making Naples their permanent home in 2004, Stephanie and Richard have embraced the community through professional leadership, volunteer service, and philanthropy. Richard has devoted his career to Naples’ luxury residential market, where representing many of the city’s architecturally and historically significant homes has fostered a deep appreciation for Naples’ history, its distinctive neighborhoods, and the importance of preserving the character that makes the community so exceptional. That appreciation naturally evolved into a lasting relationship with the Naples Historical Society and its mission.

Richard’s involvement with the society began nearly two decades ago while representing the sale of a historic residence within the Naples historic district. Through that experience, he was first introduced to the society, beginning a relationship that has grown into years of volunteer leadership and service. His involvement included advocacy in support of the Naples historic district and ultimately service as chairman of the society’s board, helping advance its mission to preserve and share the rich history of Naples for generations to come.

Beyond their commitment to the Naples Historical Society, Stephanie and Richard have devoted their time and leadership to organizations that strengthen the Naples community. Richard currently serves on the board of trustees of the Community School of Naples, where he and Stephanie have also co-chaired the school’s Angel Ball. His community involvement has also included service on the Environmental Affairs Committee of the Conservancy of Southwest Florida and on the board of the University of Michigan Alumni Club of Southwest Florida. Together, Stephanie and Richard have championed environmental stewardship through their support of Captains for Clean Water, including co-chairing fundraising events to advance the protection of Southwest Florida’s waterways and natural resources.

Whether preserving Naples’ history, protecting its environment, or supporting educational opportunities for future generations, the Prebishes have long believed that stewardship is one of a community’s greatest responsibilities. Their commitment reflects a deep appreciation for the people, places, and traditions that have shaped Naples and continue to define its unique character.

“It has been a privilege to support the Naples Historical Society and the important work it does to preserve the history and character of our community,” said Richard Prebish.

“Stephanie and I are deeply honored to serve as Honorary Chairs of this year’s Christmas Gala. We are grateful for the opportunity to support an organization that plays such an important role in preserving Naples’ unique heritage, and we look forward to celebrating its mission alongside so many friends who share a love for this remarkable community.”

“Stephanie and Richard exemplify the spirit of stewardship that has long defined the Naples Historical Society,” said Andy Reed, society president and CEO. “Their dedication to preserving our history while investing in the future of our community makes them wonderful Honorary Chairs for this year’s Christmas Gala, and we are deeply grateful for their friendship and support.”

Attendance at the Christmas Gala is limited to 180 guests and is exclusive to select society members and sponsors. To inquire about sponsorship opportunities, membership, or tickets to the gala, please contact Naples Historical Society at 239.261.8164.
