Fun (and Food) for all Ages
Johnsonville Night Lights in the Garden offers something for everyone in your group. Children can stretch their legs and venture onto grassy spaces awash in lights. It’s a magical experience for all walks of life, seeing nature reframed in blue, purple, orange, green, gold, and more. What color combination will become your favorite this season?
This annual event holds a bevy of delicious options for your palate. In Fogg Café, choose from a full menu or try this year’s special, the butternut squash ravioli. Prefer a fully outdoor dining experience? Back by popular demand, we’ve brought back our grilling stations to cook up Johnsonville bratwursts and hot dogs (select evenings only, check the schedule of events for details). The spiked apple cider cocktail offers a note of spice to round out the Garden’s wine, beer, and non-alcoholic drink offerings.
So Much to See—and Smell!
One of the most unique aspects of Johnsonville Night Lights is the opportunity to interact with the Garden’s collections at a different time of day, in a different way. Chief among them are night-blooming plants, often with pale yellow or white blooms that, while inconspicuous by day, steal the show at night. Round the curve in the upper part of the Kapnick Brazilian Garden, and you might catch a scent of aquatic night-blooming plants, including much-loved Victoria waterlilies. Make your way to the Kapnick Caribbean Garden, and night-fragrant plants such as the angel trumpet (Brugmansia X candida) herald your arrival.
