Through Generous Gift from Naples residents Bill and Nena Beynon

Community Bread Basket, Inc., one of Weirton’s most vital charitable organizations, is celebrating a major milestone with the announcement of its new permanent home at 3265 Main Street in downtown Weirton.
The property, a former WesBanco Bank branch office, was recently purchased by Bill and Nena Beynon, current residents of Naples, Florida, who maintain deep roots in West Virginia. Bill Beynon, originally from Weirton, and his wife Nena are gifting the nearly 7,000-square-foot facility to the Community Bread Basket to support and expand its mission of serving local families in need.
The new location provides the Community Bread Basket with significantly expanded space to support its ongoing work of feeding and assisting individuals and families across the region. With a larger operational footprint, the facility will allow for improved food storage, enhanced distribution capabilities, more efficient volunteer operations and room for future program expansion.
“We are incredibly grateful for this extraordinary act of generosity from Bill and Nena,” said Marilyn E Charnie, Board President for the organization. “Their gift ensures long-term stability for our organization and gives us the space we need to continue growing our resources and services and supporting our neighbors.”
The Beynons’ decision to purchase and donate the building reflects the couple’s lasting connection to Weirton and their commitment to strengthening the community where Bill grew up.
“We have always felt a strong bond with West Virginia, especially Weirton,” said Bill Beynon. “The Community Bread Basket plays a vital role in assisting local families, and we are honored to provide a permanent home where the organization can continue expanding its community impact for years to come.”
The Community Bread Basket will begin transitioning to the new Main Street location in the months ahead, with plans to enhance its services and increase outreach from its expanded facility. Basic needs services include assistance with food and clothing as well as counseling through a cooperative effort of people and organizations in the community.
