Veterans and their family members from Home Base SWFL recently gathered at Empowerment Farm for an outdoor yoga and wellness experience. The special program on June 18 drew more than 20 veterans and was made possible by a grant from Wilson & Johnson Private Foundation.

The program for local veterans aligns with Empowerment Farm’s Mission to cultivate community through compassion, cooperation, and connection to the land, animals, and each other. Home Base is dedicated to healing the invisible wounds of war, and has served more than 500 veterans since 2014.

Empowerment Farm is only open to the public during monthly designated Open Farm Days to allow the facility to remain a controlled environment to better serve smaller groups of children, adults, and seniors – often through partnerships with other local nonprofits and organizations.
