Naples is a city where lunches turn into afternoons, dinners turn into traditions, and the table is where Naples shows its true rhythm.

We’re Mitch Norgart and Elle Anderson, longtime Naples locals and avid diners. Over the years, our work in luxury real estate has taken us into nearly every corner of this city. We’ve spent decades helping people put down roots here, whether for a season or a lifetime. And along the way, one truth has become clear: you don’t truly understand Naples until you’ve experienced it through its restaurants.

This column grew naturally from that idea.

As real estate professionals, we’re often asked where to go - where locals dine, where a casual lunch turns into an afternoon, and where to bring friends when you want them to feel the rhythm of Naples rather than simply see it. Those conversations kept circling back to food, atmosphere, and experience. We realized these moments capture the soul of the city, and sharing them is our way of giving a glimpse into the Naples lifestyle we all love so much!

We began writing about restaurants not as critics, but as regulars. As diners who are curious about the people behind the plates and the places that quietly become part of our daily life. We sit at the bar, ask questions, talk with chefs, managers, and owners, and pay attention to what makes a restaurant feel right - because in Naples, feeling matters just as much as flavor.

With more than 35 years of combined experience in Naples real estate, we’ve seen firsthand how closely lifestyle and place are connected. Many of the restaurants we write about are ones we return to ourselves - and ones we bring clients to when we want to show them what living here truly feels like. A great meal has a way of turning a house into a home, and a city into a community.

This isn’t about trends or “best of” lists. It’s about the places that endure. The longtime favorites that never lose their charm, the newer spots quietly finding their footing, and the dishes that keep people coming back. Some are lively, some understated - but all are woven into the fabric of Naples life.

Each month in Old Naples News, we’ll share a restaurant, a dish, or a dining experience that captures the spirit of Naples. Our hope is that you’ll recognize familiar favorites, discover something new, or simply be reminded of how fortunate we are to live in a city where lifestyle, quality, community, and beauty come together so effortlessly.

Because in Naples, the table is often where everything comes together.

Until the next course,

Elle & Mitch
