A Stunning New Chapter: Books on Third Delivers Beauty, Discovery, and Irresistible Gifts.

World-class and endlessly browsable, Books on Third, an independent book and gift store, will be opening this autumn in a large space on the Balcony Boutiques just above Tony’s Off Third and Ridgway’s Bar and Grill.

Books are the gift that you give to yourself and to others. Books on Third celebrates the joy of the written word and the art of giving. Books are a passport to insight and inspiration, to surprise and to humor, to curiosity and to calm. They linger with you long after the final page. Books on Third will be filled with fiction and non-fiction, history, mystery, politics, philosophy, romance, fantasy, humor, travel, fine art, and much more. “Our vision has always been to blend the traditional and time-tested with the newly minted,” says co-founder Shan O’Fee-Byrom. Step into a world where interests meet finds. Expert booksellers can guide you to your next favorite read among compelling titles. If it is not on the shelves, they can order it for you.

Beyond the books, there will be an exceptional gift offering: elegant library accessories and unique book clutches, whimsical monocles and magnifying glasses, puzzles and games, and a wealth of sophisticated books and word-related accessories. Meticulously collected items that intrigue and delight, ensuring something truly special for every reader and gift-giver. In addition, there will be special seasonal fresh flowers rotating weekly, an additional gift, and a flourish for yourself or someone else.

For children and young readers, the magic of Books on Third truly unfolds. It is with them that the richness of lifelong reading begins. In addition to children’s interactive story time, reading-related games, and other programming, there is a delightful array of high-quality books, educational toys, and imaginative games, all of which will anchor the children’s section where they can reach for and look at what interests them. “We believe a bookstore should be a vibrant hub for expanding horizons, and that starts with nurturing a love of reading from a young age,” says co-founder Lindsay Smith.

Books on Thirds calendar of events for adults will be full and include author talks and book signings, topical speakers and discussions, particular subject book clubs, food-related cookbook evenings, and other imaginative and entertaining events. Books on Third’s network of resources from across the country ensures a broad and interesting pool of speakers and programs. Founded by Lindsay Smith and Shan O’Fee-Byrom, Books on Third is more than a bookstore; it will be a cultural haven, a place where people gather, converse, and connect.
