Emily Monty | Owner of Spanky’s Speakeasy
Emily Monty is a native Neapolitan. In 2015, Emily and husband Ted took on their biggest endeavor yet by purchasing Spanky’s. This year Spanky’s celebrates its 40th anniversary!
Besides being a landmark to their community, they are also one of the originals still standing. Spanky’s is known for its warm southern charm atmosphere. They continuously concentrate on the quality of their product while providing it at an exceptional value. Often called one of Naples’ most unique dining experiences, Spanky’s has something for everyone. Nestled on the Coconut River, diners can enjoy their waterfront patio in addition to their nostalgic dining room or cozy lounge. Their specialties include prime rib, fresh seafood, and their famous soup and salad bar.
In Emily’s spare time she can be found baking Spanky’s famed key lime pie. Her dad, Ken, created the masterpiece by baking it for a family dinner years ago.
“It was so good we joked with him that we should sell it at Spanky’s,” Emily recalls.
Fast forward and now they can hardly keep it stocked!
Emily also has a true passion and love for fashion. “It just makes me happy. My life is too short to wear boring clothes!” The couple also loves spending time with their four English bulldogs.
Whether you are a local at Spanky’s or have only driven by, now is the time to visit. Some of their regulars have been bringing their families there for three generations now.
