Annual tradition benefits St. Matthew’s House, providing Thanksgiving meals to thousands in need

Capital Wealth Advisors (CWA), an independent financial advisory firm based in Naples, Florida, is proud to announce that it will once again benefit the non-profit St. Matthew's House in hosting the 22nd Annual CWA Turkey Drop. During this special holiday event, nearly 300 volunteers will gather in the parking lot at First Naples Church to collect and pack meal boxes for distribution to individuals and families experiencing hardship across the community.

Starting on Thursday, November 19, meal boxes will be distributed by CWA staff and other community partners working with St. Matthew’s House to low-income families, those with disabilities, senior citizens, and veterans across a series of distribution locations in Collier and Lee counties. Information on distribution locations and dates can be found at stmatthewshouse.org.

CWA President, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder William Beynon and his wife Nena started Turkey Drop more than 20 years ago after he heard a radio ad asking for turkeys to be donated to St. Matthew’s House for those in need during the holidays. That initial donation of 25 turkeys was Beynon’s inspiration for the first Turkey Drop in 2004 and the event has grown exponentially since.

Today, CWA is joined by its many business and community partners in supporting St. Matthew’s House in its feeding mission, with an increased goal this year of providing meal boxes to over 7,000 families, thanks to a contribution from The Beynon Family. Each meal box includes a turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, stuffing, corn, cranberry sauce, pie, and eggs and feeds a family of four to six.

“It is incredible to see how our firm’s employees and the local community have come together in support of this event over the years,” says Beynon. “It has truly become my favorite holiday tradition.”

The volunteer team includes the entire CWA staff and community partners, including The Beynon Family; First Naples Church; Moglia Family Foundation; Wilson & Johnson; Woods, Weidenmiller, Michetti & Rudnick; Cal-Maine Foods, Inc.; Sunshine Ace Hardware; Allen Concrete & Masonry, Inc.; Naples Dealers (Acura, Audi, Volkswagen & Infiniti); New IQ; Cogent Bank; Harborside Animal Clinic; Midwest Food Bank; Harry Chapin Food Bank of Southwest Florida; Penske Truck Rental; Alpha Lift Trucks; DeAngelis Diamond; Afore Insurance Services; Right at Home; and Hadinger Flooring.

The public is encouraged to participate in Turkey Drop throughout the month of November by donating frozen turkeys, canned goods and other nonperishable items at the St. Matthew’s House donation drop-off at 2601 Airport Road South in Naples, Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The public also can participate by purchasing a meal for a family in need. For further information about Turkey Drop or to become a community partner, please email info@cwaturkeydrop.com.

“We are deeply grateful for the generosity and leadership of William Beynon, the Capital Wealth Advisors team and their big-hearted community partners for bringing so many caring people together to extend the blessings of love and giving to so many,” said St. Matthew’s House CEO Ben Bridges.
